What Is the ISEE?
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is a widely used admissions test accepted by over 1,200 private and independent schools around the world. Designed for students applying to grades 2 through 12, the ISEE evaluates a student’s academic skills in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and essay writing.
The exam is offered at four levels—Primary, Lower, Middle, and Upper—and can be taken online, on paper, or at home. Schools use ISEE scores as part of a holistic admissions process to determine whether a student is a strong academic fit.
